Brass is an alloy of copper and primarily zinc. The zinc content is usually 5–45% by weight.
Brass has a low conductivity and good bending proof performance.
We now also offer gold plated brass wire. Round gold plated brass wire is produced with a nickel strike in between the brass wire and the gold. The nickel strike ensures a good adhesion of gold.
At Luma Metall we have developed a plating technology that makes it possible to customize the plating to each customer’s requirement. The thickness of the gold plating versus nickel plating could for instance be modified as per your request.
Unlike for tungsten and molybdenum, brass wire is not redrawn at Luma Metall. You are welcome to send your own material to us for plating, or let us arrange material for plating.
Luma gold plated brass wire is available in any dimension within the range 0.050 – 0.3 mm (0.00196 – 0.0787″).
